Are
all prescription medications available? top
Many
of the same pharmaceuticals offered in the United States are also
offered through our affiliated pharmacy in Canada; however, you
will not be able to fill prescriptions for any addictive or narcotic
pharmaceuticals.
What
is the legitimacy of your service? top
For
many years, U.S. citizens living in northern border-states
have
been organizing bus trips into Canada to take advantage of the
lower prices for medications. Our service offers access to
the
same savings for Americans in all parts of the country through
our partner Canadian pharmacy. However, you must provide a
valid
prescription from your licensed U.S. physician, you order cannot
exceed a 3-month supply, and you cannot fill prescriptions
for
any narcotic or addictive medications.
Will
you accept my insurance? top
Insurance plans in the U.S. do not traditionally accept claims
from a foreign pharmacy, but we have found many insurance
companies
are starting to accept them. You will receive a receipt with
your prescription that you can submit to your insurance company,
but
we cannot guarantee that you will be reimbursed. We suggest calling
your insurance company to determine their policy on this issue.
How
is my first order different from refill orders? top
During
your first order, you will need to complete the registration process
which includes accepting the customer agreement, filling out a
health profile form, submitting a copy of your prescription via
fax or mail along with our Prescription Order Form, and providing
payment information.
If
you have refills written for your prescription, a representative
from our affiliated pharmacy will call you about filling the refills
as they come due. Once your prescription has expired, you will
need to submit a copy of the new prescription written by a U.S.
physician along with the Prescription Order Form you can access
from our How to Order
page. As is the case with your first order, the new prescription
will be reviewed along with your medical information and approved
by a Canadian physician for fulfillment.
Do
I need a valid prescription from my doctor? top
Yes.
In order for our partner pharmacy to fill your prescription, you
must submit a copy of your original prescription written by a
licensed U.S. physician during the ordering process.
How
do I pay for my medications? top
The
only method of payment currently accepted by our affiliated
pharmacy
is by credit or debit card. You can use either a Mastercard or
Visa, and all payment transactions take place on secure servers
to ensure the protection of your personal financial information.
If you do not wish to submit your credit card information
online,
we can help you submit it to our affiliated pharmacy over the
phone. Please call us at (888) 757-3732 ext. 6925 if
you need assistance. If you do not have a personal credit card,
you can use one from
a friend or family member if you choose.
How
long will it take to receive my original order and refill orders? top
Due
to the time it takes to validate your medical information and
register you as a new customer, your initial order could take
a maximum of 21 days to arrive. However, our affiliated pharmacy
is usually able ship your order to you in 12-13 days depending
on volume. Refill orders could take a maximum of 14 days to arrive,
but our affiliated pharmacy is usually able to ship your refill
orders in 7-10 days.
Can
I choose to have my prescription filled with a generic brand? top
Yes.
The generic drugs produced in Canada are held to the same rigorous
approval process that is analagous to that of the U.S. Federal
Food and Drug Administration. The generic drugs offered by our
affiliated pharmacy are used widely by Canadian citizens similar
to the use of generic drugs offered in the U.S. You will be able
to indicate your willingness to accept generics when you fill
out the Health Profile form.
Why
are some of the generic brands in Canada not offered in the U.S.? top
Due
to differences in the patent laws between the two countries, there
are generic analogs of U.S. drugs that are produced in Canada
that are not offered in the U.S. This is a legal matter and in
no way relates to a compromise in quality and safety.
What
additional fees will I have to pay beyond the price of my medications? top
The
only additional fee is a shipping charge of US$9.95 per order,
not per prescription. You may order several prescriptions at
once and you will only be charged one shipping charge of US$9.95.
Please note that if you order from multiple countires at the
same time you will be charged $9.95 per order, per country.
Why
does My Rx Savings now provide medications from other countries
besides Canada ? top
Due to the attempts by the large drug manufacturers to stop U.S. citizens from
purchasing their prescription medications from Canada, we have established relationships
with licensed pharmacies in other countries to allow U.S. citizens to continue
to purchase their medications from other countries as well. This will assist
the customer in not having to wait for any medications that may become short
listed in Canada, and provide our customers with other safe and affordable options
in which to purchase their medications.
Why are prices lower from some of these
other countries ie Israel and
U.K.? top
Prices vary per country based upon a number of things that include the drug manufacturer's
ability to charge for drugs, volume purchasing, and pricing controls set by the
governments in these countries or the pharmacies abilities to purchase the drugs
from the manufacturer.
Are medications from other countries as safe as those from Canada? top
Yes. In fact, all countries have their own regulatory board that approves drugs
just as in the U.S. and Canada. In addition, many of the drugs in these countries
are manufactured by the same drug manufacturers as those used for Canada and
the U.S.
Are drugs from other countries manufactured
in those countries? top
No. Many of the drug manufacturers have offices all over the world and these
offices produce drugs for a number of different regions. For example, a large
portion of Lipitor is manufactured in Ireland and supplied to all regions over
the world.
