I'm wondering how Obama's Health Reform initiative will impact my ability to get cheaper drugs via the Internet.  It's rumored that I might lose this option.  I have literally saved thousands of dollars on my prescriptions and I intend on saving thousands more. So what is the truth in this regard?  Does anyone know?  I would love to know what the experts have to say.

I am weary of taking the Swine Flu shot after hearing the side-effects a young lady is enduring.  She claims the vaccination gave her Dystonia, which is a neurological movement disorder in which sustained muscle contractions cause twisting and repetitive movements or abnormal postures. My personal fear stems from hearing these so-called “experts” give their scientific conclusions, which greatly differ. My son, an Epidemiologist says there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the flu vaccine and the media is perpetuating this fear that’s shared by many.  I would be interested in reading other opinions. I am a 51-year old female whose been taking prescribed pills for my heart, arthritis and depression.  I get so tired of hearing doctors warn about the side-affects of drugs.  There are no side-affects! Drugs are composed of the elements of this earth.  How can we classify them as synthetic?  C'mon, give me a break.

Are the school districts taking the Swine Flu epidemic as serious as they should, or are they more concerned about their reputation and/or the lack of funds absent attendence will generate?

It is believed that the Insulin Pump is more effective than using the syringe.  Should the pump manufactures take this in consideration to off-set the high cost of pumping?

I heard Statin drugs are beneficial to those not under a physician's care for elevated cholesterol levels.  Wouldn't the harmful side affects outweigh the benefits?

Who's going to take care of me when I retire?  With the threat of no social security to fall back on and the sky-rocketing cost of drugs; I can see a dismal future for the elderly.

I've had Type 1 diabetes for 11 years now, and I'm aware of several drugs used to treat diabetes which I question should be on the market.  One such drug is Lyrica.  With so many harsh side effects, can anyone explain where they can benefit?  If so, I would love to hear them.

There are some who say Prozac saved their lives, while others blame Prozac and the doctors who prescribed it as "lacking." What's your take on what could be described in some circles as "The Panacea"?

A drug used to remove iron from the body could help doctors fight one of diabetes' cruelest complications: poor wound healing, which can lead to amputation of patients' toes, feet and even legs. The drug, deferoxamine, helped diabetic mice heal small cuts 10 days faster than those who did not receive treatment, according to researchers from Stanford University School of Medicine and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. The team is now working to arrange human trials for deferoxamine. If the results translate, it could help doctors combat such diabetic complications as foot ulcers, an “unmet medical need of gigantic proportions,” said Geoffrey Gurtner, MD, professor of surgery and senior author on the paper to be published Monday, July 27, in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science.

The Keys to Managing Your Diabetes: What I've Learned Working with Diabetics I have worked with a lot of (type 2) diabetics, and I have learned 5 important facts: 1. People with an open mind and positive attitude can manage their diabetes. These people are able to prevent the onset of the complications such as kidney failure, blindness, and amputation. Some have even reversed the effects. 2. Unfortunately, there is a lot of myth and misunderstanding about diabetes that leads to poor decision-making. This is difficult for some people because it is more difficult to first UNlearn something in order to learn it properly. Acquire the proper knowledge* by getting one of the top diabetes books as your foundation. 3. Most diabetics make the same mistakes due to these myths and misunderstandings. 4. Blood glucose testing is the most powerful diagnostic tool for diabetics -- but diabetics are not taught how to analyze and use the data! 5. Pre-diabetes and diabetes can be prevented.

Welcome to MyRxSavings.  The purpose of this website is to provide a central portal for consumers to discover ways to lower their prescription drug costs.  With an increasing population of the Uninsured, according to some estimates of 50 million, along with increasing health insurance premiums and more out of pocket costs, more and more Americans are falling out of compliance of their medication regimen.

As one alternative, the marketplace is promoting generic drugs as a viable cost option.  While this is an effective way to curtail the costs of prescription drugs, there are certain medications where there is no generic equivalent or does not perform as well as the brand drugs.  This website is not an advocate for either generics or brand drugs but as a resource for consumers to find alternative ways to fund the cost of brand drugs.
